The Costa Rica National Emergency Commission (Comision Nacional de Emergencias, or CNE) has declared the following areas in red alert: Central Pacific, South Pacific, North Pacific, North Region and Central Valley.
The phenomenon, which has affected the country since Wednesday, has caused torrential rains, floods, and landslides in different parts of the country.
The main routes connecting Central America and the ones that lead to the central pacific region are in very bad condition due to landslides, flooding and collapses produced by the rains of the last two days.
